Period Home Restoration
This was our second four-storey Victorian house completed on this road in Rathmines.
On this striking period property, we collaborated with Michael Doyle Architects, who designed a bold contemporary double-height extension to the rear — creating a strong contrast between the historic structure and modern intervention.
The rear extension is finished in dark RAL cladding with matching window systems and a sedum roof, delivering a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Internally, the double-height space with expansive glazing maximises natural daylight while introducing a sense of volume and openness to the ground floor.
A stone kitchen paired with terrazzo flooring throughout the ground level creates a seamless flow between spaces, combining durability with a refined finish.
Across the upper floors, careful restoration works were carried out to preserve the home's original character. The layout was enhanced with the addition of four bathrooms and bespoke walk-in wardrobes, alongside a complete mechanical and electrical upgrade, including integrated smart and Bluetooth lighting systems.
